Truly Israeli

A Farewell Letter from the Outgoing Mayor of Haifa Mr. Yona Yahav

5 ,  November 2018

Dear Friends,

For the past fifteen years I have had the privilege of serving the city of Haifa both as Mayor and as Chairman of the Haifa Foundation, and I look back with pride over my years of service.

I was born and raised in Haifa so the city is very dear to me and the well-being of its residents will always be in the forefront of my thoughts. It is vital to maintain the commitment to tolerance and harmony between the residents of all faiths, ethnicities and backgrounds that characterizes our city.

During my years of service the city has undergone many changes and there is still much to be done. I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all our loyal friends and supporters from around the world who have enabled us to carry out a wide range of projects in all areas of city life. Your efforts have been the mainstay of the city’s growth and development on so many fronts, from the beautification of the environment, to playgrounds, public parks, sport facilities, community, technological and arts centers, safe places for youth at risk, all sustained by the spirit of  shared existence and communal harmony at the center of all our endeavors.

I look forward to many more years of working on behalf of the Jewish people and the State of Israel in whatever capacity I can be of use, and I am sure that Haifa will continue to be the beneficiary of your continuing support and dedication.

Yours Truly,

Yona Yahav

The Outgoing Mayor of Haifa
